Microsoft MS-Windows in Banking
The Portfolio Plus banking software application is supported
on virtually all major platforms, including MS-Windows, HP-UX, Red Hat Linux, AIX, and Sun Solaris.
Portfolio Plus can work on the MS-Windows platform for both the server
and the client. For a larger installation, where high growth is expected, SIT recommends a Unix
server or a Linux server solution, as it has been our experience that these operating systems offer more
scalability than MS-Windows. However, there are some cases where a fixed number of users may
want to use Portfolio Plus and not have the necessary skills to operate a Unix or Linux
environment. In this case a Microsoft Windows server installation is ideal.
