Senior/Intermediate Programmer Analyst
The successful candidate for the Senior/Intermediate Programmer Analyst position will be a strong team player
with the ability to build relationships with business specialists. The ability to work well under pressure and efficiently prioritize
duties based on changing client needs and requirements will be important in SIT's dynamic environment. This position demands a self-starter
who can quickly come up to speed with the different technologies utilized by SIT's clients, and stay current with technology and software
developments within our field.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with Financial Application Specialists to enhance, troubleshoot and QA code changes and fixes to our financial software.
- Communicate and work closely with other departments at SIT to ensure the scope of your code does not impact with other modules.
- Mentoring and training of client and internal technical resource on database and environment topics.
- Development of internal systems and tools as needed.
- Monitor, analyze, and advise on DB environment
- Performance monitoring and tuning of Portfolio Plus products.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Understanding of basic banking, interest payments, account transfers, asset management, etc.
- Understanding of accounting.
- Strong system problem determination, troubleshooting, and resolution skills.
- Strong presentation, listening, and communication skills - written and verbal.
- Good interpersonal skills and experience in training and supporting clients and co-workers.
- Ability to review specifications documents and provide input on successfully implementing business solutions.
- Progress Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years Progress OpenEdge® ABL (GUI/CHUI)
- Progress OpenEdge® database analyst experience on minimum of V9 Progress, preferably Progress OpenEdge® 10
- Thorough knowledge of Progress OpenEdge® database utilities
- SonicMQ / SonicESB / ActiveMQ technologies preferred
- Exposure to middleware (e.g. JMS) messaging and Enterprise Application Integration is an asset
- Familiarity with XML, Java, .NET, Eclipse, VMWare etc technologies an asset
- Linux/Unix and Windows Server familiarity
- Use of Linux/Unix and Windows Server scripting
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP and routing protocols / Firewalls is an asset
- Working knowledge of PC/Server hardware an asset
- Working knowledge of Windows file sharing protocols like Samba and NFS
