Software Installation Technician
We are currently looking for an entry or mid level Software Installation and Technical Support Technician
to join our Technical Facilities team.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the manager of Technical Integration and Support, you will be
responsible for installing and maintaining proprietary applications as well as third party software and network systems.
- Install and support a multitude of proprietary and third party software packages both onsite and at client sites
- Co-ordinate and resolve any installation and/or operation issues (with the involvement of 3rd party vendors if required)
- Ensure standards of Quality Assurance excellence are being met
Requirements/Qualifications
- 2 or more years experience administering and supporting a medium to large IT environment with a Windows/Unix/Linux Operating system core
- A degree in Computer Science or equivalent Community College Diploma or equivalent experience
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal (English mandatory, Spanish and/or French an asset)
- Flexibility and availability to travel a must have (National and International – A valid passport is required)
- Familiarity with Progress RDBMS, Java Messaging Service, SonicMQ or equivalent XML systems and electronic integration is an asset
- MCSE, CISSP, RHCE, CCNA, CCA and any other accreditations are an ideal asset!
- Some weekend work required
