Application Support Developer
As an Application Support Developer you will leverage your experience in
financial systems within SIT's
Application Support development group to help enhance, QA, and troubleshoot
Portfolio Plus, our flagship product.
Requirements
The ideal candidate has considerable knowledge about creating financial applications using a relational database. This experience
includes:
- Record Locking
- Record Scoping
- Bracketing Techniques
- Graphical User Interface Design
- Portability Considerations
- Performance Impact of Code
- Unix and MS-Windows Programming
Financial background should include:
- Understanding of accounting.
- Understanding of basic banking including one or more of the following:
- Loans & Mortgages
- Investments
- Term Deposits
- Retail Banking
- Accounting
Key Responsibilities
- Work with Financial Application Specialists to enhance, troubleshoot and QA code changes and fixes to Portfolio Plus.
- Help implement quality assurance.
- Communicate and work closely with other departments at SIT to ensure the scope of your code does not interfere with other modules.
- Accountability for all programs that you create and/or enhance.
Qualifications
- 5 or more years experience in a bank or financial institution creating and deploying enterprise wide financial applications.
- 5 or more years experience in the Progress 4GL and relational database (or equivalent computer language/database).
- Strong system problem determination, troubleshooting, and resolution skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Strong presentation, listening, and communication skills, written and verbal.
- Strong team player with the ability to build relationships with financial application specialists and other departments at SIT.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Exposure to middleware (e.g. JMS) messaging and Enterprise Application Integration is a plus
