HOW A NON-BANKING COMPANY IS USING SIT'S PROFESSIONAL SERVICES & PORTFOLIO PLUS TO MAKE MARKET BREAKTHROUGHS

We're not shy about saying we enjoy creating "market breakthrough" products for the financial industry. You may be surprised, however, at how SIT's innovation can be leveraged for non-banking solutions. Specsavers, in the UK, is a great example. Specsavers is the dominant eye care provider in the UK and well on their way (through acquisitions and organic growth) to becoming the dominant eye care provider in Europe.

Specsavers first approached SIT with the challenges they had to manage the treasury for over 600 stores. With few customizations, Portfolio Plus was installed and successful. Then Specsavers brought SIT another challenge. Their direct debit management system was becoming a burden. The maintenance cost, for the associated hardware and software, was becoming onerous. They asked SIT if we could help. We agreed, and proposed a single system that would replace three aging minicomputers and associated software. Today, Specsavers is rolling out a new Portfolio Plus Direct Debit Management System that performs faster, is easier to maintain, reduces costs and is architected to scale up as the Specsavers business grows.

Banking Software: Project Management

New customers get their first taste of SIT's project management skills at an Implementation Strategy Workshop (ISW), which is where SIT works with you to discuss an implementation plan for Portfolio Plus. This workshop establishes goals, limitations, scope, resources and training, and produces a comprehensive written project plan. Quality project management skills permit the delivery of Portfolio Plus, enhancements and customization on time and within budget.

Installation

Installation is handled by a combination of our technical services staff and customer support specialists. The technical services staff assess your current hardware and software infrastructure and provide recommendations to you before Portfolio Plus is installed. Once the infrastructure is ready and secure, Portfolio Plus is installed and set up. The planning for installation and setup is documented and accounted for in the project plan that is created as a result of the Implementation Strategy Workshop (ISW).

At SIT we've performed over fifty conversions for our customers. These conversions have ranged from in-house systems to banking software packages to service bureau applications.

Banking Software: Training Courses

Training courses are prepared and provided by our staff of banking industry professionals. Training can be performed on your site or at our offices. Approaches vary from individual training to formal courses to "train the trainer". Training manuals and examples are provided.
