The Founding Shareholders

Rob Leeming, President

Rob is the prime architect of STRATEGY/PM the first generation banking system, which later became the launching pad for PORTFOLIO PLUS. He has over 30 years experience in information systems and EDP, having consulted for both government and private industry in a broad cross-section of applications, ranging from banking to manufacturing to artificial intelligence. He has been self-employed and a principal of his own firm for over thirty years. In this time he has fulfilled every role in the IT chain, from programmer to project manager to chief architect.

Stephen Leeming, Chief Technology Officer

Stephen has over 28 years of information systems industry experience, including major assignments to private industry and government in the areas of finance, accounting, order processing, manufacturing, human resources, payroll and banking. He has been a business partner with his brother, Rob, for over 25 years. Together, they have formed an effective management team in building SIT to its current status in the independent software vendor market place.

Sam llaqua, Director and Senior Advisor

Sam has over 35 years experience in banking and investments in the Canadian financial community. He has held a number of Senior Management positions in Treasury and Investments. He is a former director, executive vice president & chief financial officer of two banks, and former director of four Canadian financial institutions. After guiding SIT through its formative years as President, Sam is now responsible for the strategic direction of Portfolio Plus

The Management Team

Don Wilson, Vice President of Domestic Sales

Don rejoined SIT in 2005, and is the latest addition to the management team. Don brings over 25 years experience in business application software, primarily focused on the financial industry. Don also has experience in other software segments including manufacturing, distribution, transportation and warehouse management. Don has held key management positions with Computer Corporation of America (CCA), Crowntek, American Software, Carleton Corporation and Progress Software. Don's history also includes a successful track record with small companies or subsidiaries who are positioning themselves for high-growth or an outright sale. Don attended Western University and has received an Executive MBA at Queens University.

Barbara Baron, Vice President of Customer Support

Barbara brings to SIT a wealth of expertise gained from over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. She has successfully fulfilled positions in the areas of audit, accounting, management reporting, investments, workflow analysis, and financial analysis. Beginning as a client support specialist for the Portfolio Plus Investment Management module for several years, Barbara progressed into management and is currently answering the daily challenges of her role as vice president of customer support. Barbara earned a Bachelor of Science from University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Windsor.

Eric Ilaqua, Vice President of Technical Solutions

Eric has over 15 years experience in the technical facilities environment. Eric joined SIT in 1993 and is primarily responsible for the management and the daily operations of SIT’s technical systems including network infrastructure, database administration, security, desktop deployment and web servers. Eric is also responsible for providing guidance to the SIT customer base for the optimization of Portfolio Plus on multiple operating system platforms including HP-UX, AIX, Windows, Solaris and Linux.

David Leeming, Vice President of Application Support

David has been with SIT for over 10 years beginning as a programmer then expanding his scope to include database administration and retail banking systems design. Today, David oversees all development and maintenance of Portfolio Plus and works closely with the client support specialists and technical support specialists in the release of new versions. David has been paramount in the implementation of the annual lifecycle process and service packs. David graduated from Durham College with a diploma in computer science.

Bruce Pausey, Vice President of Professional Solutions

After 4 years as the owner/operator of a sailing vessel Bruce returned to Toronto and began his career in the software industry. Bruce has over 20 years experience in the software industry including application design and development for the engineering and finance sectors. Bruce joined SIT in 1994 as a product specialist for the investment module and was key in the development of the registered and non-registered components of the wealth management system. Bruce currently oversees all special projects and new installations of Portfolio Plus. Bruce holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto.

Mike Whelan, Vice President of Professional Services

Mike Whelan, joined SIT in 1994 bringing with him 28 years experience in information systems. Prior to entering the information technology industry Mike traveled the globe with the Intelligence Division of the Royal Air Force. Mike has had a broad range of financial systems experience in the banking and insurance industry. The roles Mike has fulfilled include systems operations, programming, systems analysis and design. As vice president of professional services Mike is responsible, along with Bruce Pausey, for all projects and customer implementations.

Patrick Lannigan, Vice President of Marketing

Patrick has over 20 years of experience in the high technology industry working with industry leaders that include Progress Software, InSystems, Oracle, Powersoft/Sybase, AT&T and Concurrent Computer Corporation. Patrick began his software career in operating systems, working with Unix at the source code level, and then expanding his field of expertise to include databases, account management, mergers, acquisitions, sales and marketing. He co-founded NuSphere Corporation before joining SIT to fulfill a technical role, and has since embarked on a renewal of SIT’s marketing efforts.

Angie Benetis AMP, Vice President of Business Solutions

Angie brings with her extensive experience in the Canadian lending industry, having held senior management positions in real estate underwriting, funding, administration, arrears management, as well as third party servicing and syndicated loans, including construction financing at a national level. She earned her Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP) designation in 2005 and is a proud member of The Canadian Institute of Mortgage Brokers and Lenders (CIMBL) and the Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC). Her extensive lending background empowered her to leverage her skills in the software industry. Angie joined SIT in 1995 and through changing roles has demonstrated the full power of Portfolio Plus, resulting in significant sales in Canada and now internationally. In her role as Vice President of Business Solutions she explores International markets and is currently developing new opportunities, with the help of representatives in the Caribbean and European markets with visions for expansion to other areas globally.

James Sanker, Caribbean Region, Sales Manager

James joined SIT in 2002 bringing with him over 15 years experience in the computer and communications industry. He spent much of this time designing, coordinating, implementing and maintaining computer and communications systems in the United States and internationally. James is working with Angie Benetis, from his home base in Belize, Central America, in the development and provision of business solutions and other opportunities in the Caribbean.

Chris Leeming, European/UK Sales Manager

Chris joined SIT in a programming role and for several years helped develop initiatives in the Gateway environment to interface to our many third party partners. He spent much of this time designing, coordinating, implementing and maintaining internal systems but wished to expand his experiences back in his home country of England. Chris is currently working with Angie Benetis, from his home base in Northampton, England in the development and provision of business solutions and other opportunities in the UK and other European countries.
