Business Systems Analyst
SIT is in need of a Business Systems Analyst with a loans
administration background. You are a strong, self-motivated leader, committed to completing projects on time and on budget.
You receive
satisfaction from seeing projects come to fruition, building lasting relationships with client and vendor partners and
in seeing the Business Systems Analysts team develop their skills.
Skills include:
- Analyzing complex business processes and information requirements
- Designing and documenting business and technical requirements
- Recommending enhancements to senior management and clients
- Coordinating with peers, clients and vendors
- Mentoring a team of Business Systems Analysts
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in client requirement gathering and gap analysis meetings
- Provide input to project estimates
- Research, analyze and document the business requirements for developing or enhancing systems of medium to high complexity
- Support data mapping analysis for external interfaces, reports and forms
- Review with the technical design team to identify Technical Requirements including database enhancements
- Finalize the Business Requirements including business process flow, user interface, rules and edits
- Present the recommended solution and receive approval from senior management and clients
- Ensure the required testing environments and tools are available
- Develop the framework for the test plan and detailed test cases while training the junior Business Analysts
- Monitor and review the unit, functional and integration testing
- Co-ordinate with developers and peers and client project implementation teams
- Co-ordinate all facets of client delivery including program control, database enhancements, system documentation and user training
- Provide the Project Manager with status, issue, risk, scope creep updates
- Participate in internal product development, QA standards and methodology
Requirements/Qualifications
- Should have 5 - 10 years related working experience in the Financial Services Industry
- Post-secondary education and/or equivalent applicable IT experience
- Strong working knowledge of the Financial Services Industry
- Loan Administration experience is a must
- Knowledge of systems analysis, design, testing practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with multi-platform environment such as Windows, UNIX
- Knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Progress, SQL, XML, Reporting tools
- Data modelling
- Full suite of project documentation including business analysis, plans and weekly monitoring.
- Logic and analytical skills to clearly define requirements and identify key issues.
- Conceptual and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and listening skills to understand business needs and translate those needs into workable solutions.
- Excellent report writing to clearly define business requirements and processes.
- Ability to take initiative and research new products and legislation requirements.
- Strong time-management and prioritizing abilities.
- Ability to manage tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to work independently or in collaboration with peers, within a team oriented environment.
- Customer-focused, Service oriented approach.
