Financial Product Specialist
SIT is in need of Financial Product Specialists at the junior, intermediate and senior level. Are you a bank manager or
a financial services representative? Have you administered a Loan or Term Deposit Portfolio? Are you familiar with product legislation requirements?
SIT may be the company for you. A variety of positions will be filled specializing in areas such as Loans, Mortgages, Retail Banking, Term Deposits, GIC's,
and Investment Administration (Registered and Non-Registered products). The following describes a more senior position, but outlines the intended career path
of the junior and intermediate as well.
The candidate is a strong, self-motivated leader, committed to customer service. Skills include:
- Providing a high level of customer service to our clients on a day to day basis
- Participation in software upgrades and new client implementations
- Quality assurance testing of SIT product
- Ability to train clients
- Analyzing complex business processes and information requirements coupled with the design and documentation of business requirements
- Coordinating with peers, clients and vendors
- Mentoring a team of Financial Product Specialists
Key Responsibilities
- Provide customer support to clients
- Act as liaison between client and SIT developers
- Develop the framework for the test plan and detailed test cases and perform quality assurance testing
- Perform client training to existing or new clients
- Participate in all aspects of client upgrades and new installations
- Participate in client requirement gathering, gap analysis, research, analyze and document business requirements for system enhancements
- Co-ordinate with developers and peers and client project implementation teams
- Co-ordinate all facets of client delivery
- Participate in internal product development, QA standards and methodology
Requirements/Qualifications
- Should have 5 - 10 years related working experience in the Financial Services Industry with financial product knowledge but will consider a recent graduate who is eager to learn
- Strong working knowledge of the Financial Services Industry, specializing in one or more of the following areas:
- Loans and Mortgages
- Term Deposits and GIC’s
- Investment administration both registered (RRSP, RRIF, RESP etc.) and non-registered products
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles would be an asset
- Conceptual and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and listening skills to understand business needs and translate those needs into workable solutions
- Excellent report writing to clearly define business requirements and processes
- Ability to take initiative and research new products and legislation requirements
- Strong time-management and prioritizing abilities
- Ability to manage tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to work independently or in collaboration with peers, within a team oriented environment
- Customer-focused, Service oriented approach
