Another Stellar Year for Manulife Financial Corporation

Toronto, Canada – February 9, 2006: Manulife Financial Corporation released strong financial results today with record earnings.

Highlights include:

• Net Income of $3.294 Billion, an increase of 29 per cent over 2004
• EPS of $4.11, 13 per cent higher than 2004
• Premiums and deposits increased 22 per cent over last year to a record $61.5 billion
• Funds under management increased by $24.9 billion to $372.3 billion
