Open Positions @ SIT
As an Application Support Developer you will leverage your experience in
financial systems, along with 3GL or 4GL languages, and RDBMS experience to work in SIT's
Application Support Group to develop, enhance, QA, and troubleshoot Portfolio PlusTM (SIT's flagship product).
Responsibilities include programming using a 4GL and a relational database. You will work
closely with Financial Application Specialists to enhance Portfolio Plus, QA any
enhancements or fixes, and troubleshoot any problems.
The ideal candidate has considerable knowledge of a 3GL or 4GL and at least one database. Knowledge
should include:
- Record Locking, Scoping, and Bracketing
- GUI Design
- Portability Considerations
- Performance Impact of Code
- Unix and MS-Windows Programming
Financial background should include:
- Understanding of accounting.
- Understanding of basic banking including loans, term deposits, interest payments, account transfers,
asset management, investment management, etc.
Responsibilities include:
- Work with Financial Application Specialists to enhance, troubleshoot and QA code changes and
fixes to Portfolio Plus.
- Help implement quality assurance.
- Communicate and work closely with other departments at SIT to ensure the scope
of your code does not interfere with other modules.
- Accountability for all programs that you create and/or enhance.
Qualifications
- 5 or more years experience in a bank or financial institution creating
and deploying enterprise wide financial applications.
- 5 or more years experience at least one computer language and a relational database.
- Strong system problem determination, troubleshooting, and resolution skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Strong presentation, listening, and communication skills, written and verbal.
- Strong team player with the ability to build relationships with financial application specialists and other departments at SIT.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Exposure to middleware (e.g. JMS) messaging and Enterprise Application Integration is a plus
