Technical Developer Specialist

Strategic Information Technology (SIT) Limited is one of Canada’s leading providers of enterprise software for financial institutions. Our flagship product, Portfolio Plus, is used by three of the top six banks in Canada as well as trust companies, credit unions, and other corporations. Our growth has created an excellent opportunity in our customer service division as a Technical Developer Specialist.

Technical Developer Specialist

You will require a logical approach to demanding technical issues raised by SIT clients and employees. These issues will require thorough investigation and may involve prototyping one or more solutions for consideration. You will also be responsible for development of internal systems in addition to research and development for Portfolio Plus. Training of internal staff will also be part of your mandate.

Requirements:

• Minimum five years commercial development experience
• Proven system knowledge of Windows, Linux, Unix, and other platforms
• Strong system problem determination, troubleshooting, and resolution skills
• Strong presentation, listening, and communication skills - written and verbal
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Strong team player, self-motivated, and the ability to build relationships with all levels of staff including senior management

Preferred experience of the following:

• Progress OpenEdge® ABL (GUI/CHUI)
• SonicMQ / SonicESB / ActiveMQ technologies
• Linux / Unix / Windows scripting
• Database system knowledge
• XML, Java, .NET, Eclipse, VMWare etc technologies
• Web enabling technologies (WebSpeed, Open Client etc)
